I am exhausted right now; and I do not think an energy will help. My dad always told me that when you are tired you are tired and your body just needs rest. There have been times when I tried driving home after working a graveyard schedule and drinking energy drinks was not enough to keep me awake when I tried to drive home. At the time I lived an hour away, I would pull over after dosing off a couple of times.
The last time I drove after not getting some sleep after my shift I remember trying to pass some one and dosing off. It was for a split second and I woke up ok but in fear at what could have happened. After that point I would not drive home until atleast getting a bird nap.
I no longer work at that job or a graveyard shift but as I sit here exhausted it makes me think about it. Energy drinks give a boost when you just fatigued and can not get it going. But if you sleepy from not getting sleep it seems as if energy drinks are not going to help you much at least that is my opinion.
Well it all depends on what energy drink you get. Monsters are good at waking you up but at the same time you get a crash from them. I use the 5 hour energy shots, no crash and you have almost instant energy.
I still buy Monsters and Lost Five-O but i dont drink enough of it to get a crash, and i just like the taste of them.
I try to eat healthy, and don't drink much soda or energy drinks. I'll have one now and then when I'm hanging out with my friends and want something to drink other than soda, water or beer.
I have used the 5 hour energy twice, once when making the 15 hour drive straight to Florida, and once on the way back. They seem to work well. They don't make you feel jittery like an energy drink or coffee, but they keep you awake and alert. I can't help but wonder what kind of effects energy drinks of all sorts have on your body.

THere is something to that. Eating right, staying hydrated (preferably with water), and getting quality rest. You can sleep 8 hrs and feel like you did not get an ounce of sleep. I had where I slept 6 hrs and got up early to do some physical exercise and felt better then when I slept and laid around lazy for 10 hrs. My weakness is Powerade/gatorade; they serve no real nutritional value (unless you are an athlete) but they taste better then water. Problem is powerade/gatorade with all that sugar acyually dehydrate you. Drink water and you feel good, drink gatorade and you need more. I justify my gatorade/powerade binge by telling myself that it does not have near as much sugar as fruit drinks or coke.
