That's why I'm teaching her wood working and using hand tools. To be a well rounded geek.
Her mom and her cook together and I've started letting her, season and flip the food and take it off the grill when I get l grill but my chocolate chip cookie recipe goes with me to the grave.
Her sisters are teaching her fashion and how to be a drama queen.
Her brothers don't see her much but when they do it's mostly just catching up on how everyone is doing.

Make sure you teach her to design homes, then she will be a total geek.

She designs the stuff we build,I just make it work. Fortunately she isn't educated enough yet to not listen when I tell her 3ea 4' pieces won't come out of 1ea 10' board beyond saying "well then let's go to the store and get more". That makes me fear she might end up being a government worker though.

Better a government worker than a home designer though

Maybe I should say whip cream...

A chocolate covered, with sprinkles, donut works for us. No bacon. She told me her mom won't let her have one "because it's junk food" so I sneak her one every now and then BUT only after swimming or bike riding " so she uses the junk calories up and the sugar to feed her muscles so they'll grow big and strong" is what I told her when she asked why I let her have her first. She really thinks she's pulling one over on her mom and doesn't, like when I let her keep her shoes on inside the house once and only once, go bragging about it.
I don't want her building iPads like the kids in China do.

Gotta have kids build the ipads, how else can those small parts get jammed in...

Funny that I had my first job at 12 delivering the San Diego Union Paper, the paper had to be on the porch no questions asked. Now no kids deliver the paper, it's done by adults and you're lucky if it's actually on your driveway, as it's typically in the gutter and wet, and God forbid if you want it early in the morning, mine had to be done by 5 to 5:30, 6 on Sunday... We kids got it done. Damn laws don't let kids work now until after 16, and most have no desire to work, it cuts into their TV or Video games....
Sorry I'm ranting again... Oh well that's my handle... Gotta do my job...

What's a newspaper? Yes they all have more routes here now, driving by at 20mph at the time they toss it out the window and it hits somewhere in the vicinity of your yard.
I was more like a hobo as a kid, went around finding bottles for the .10 deposits. Some days I'd make over a dollar a day. The other kids I hung around with would all get together and search along the roads and stuff. We'd be gone all day, walking who knows how many miles to split the loot between the 4 of us.
