I see you all don't like the pink unicorn either. You know there is an option in ROM Control to disable boot animation right? The funny thing is, when you check the box, the message changes to calling you "Jerk"! LOL... Btw there is an Easter Egg. In About tablet, tap quickly on AOKP version.

Of course me being the great husband and grandfather I am says sure, let me do some searching around. Anyway Verizon wants an arm and a leg for a CDMA version. I can get a GSM from Google Play for half that (only an arm), I don't suppose I could use the GSM on Verizons network can I?
Not as far as out here in Cali, not sure about anywhere else, but I believe they are just CDMA/LTE...
PS, yes you are a great man for your women...

Randy I know a lot of folks at get a Nexus7 for this or that but I'm serious when I say a Nexus7 would give the capability, not cost an arm and leg, not tie you into any contract, be almost as portable as a phone and a 7" screen would be so much larger than 4" for seeing her (yours too, but I'm in sales mode here
) granddaughters new smiles . Then your wife can keep her current phone as well. If you do need non WiFi you could look at pre pay mifi.
The second ICS update to the Rezound is to add true gsm capability to it but it's pushing slowly . I haven't read of any AT&T users working on it but a few tmob users have managed to make it work before ICS already.

Thank you very much Erin.
It's something I did so I could get the larger screens of my tablets on the few occasions a year I might need them when away from WiFi for a few days or more. The 4g Verizon one I got its blazing fast when in good signal and has about the same reception as my Rezound,a smidge less, but it's still fast in weaker areas. The data is expensive if used regularly but I would only need it a couple of times a year. The one time I've used it it worked very well and I was surprised at how much stuff I got done with only 250MB of data.
Randy, I'm still setting my nexus7 up but am setting it to be just like my phone minus the phone calls. Iow, I'm using the same apps as I have on my phone, including Skype, just not the ones for phone call only stuff. It's working very well so far and I plan on moving my pdf, works, etc apps over as well when I get some time because Madelyn has confiscated my Tab 10.1 and is getting more greedy about sharing "her" Tab. I don't mind since getting the nexus7 because the pinch/ zoom has been more than sufficient for reading stuff and Chrome does a great job of enlarging web pages and rendering correctly.
Since your wife wants it for Skype mostly I'd also suggest MX player for home videos that'll inevitably end up on it. That player does an excellent job of cleaning the burps and hiccups than many phone cameras make when shooting videos.

Mark, why not just tether to your Rezound? The FCC has said it's perfectly legal to tether so Verizon cannot do anything to you.

Don't forget about GrooveIP, makes your Nexus 7 a phone, usable with a WIFI connection. Oh and I confirmed yesterday that the phone / music works great with a bluetooth headset, talking away like I was on my phone bluetooth.

The battery drain on the phone was amazing to watch with the hotspot going. It also rose to over 120f and climbing before I turned it off. I haven't considered using it since. The mifi got 4 about hours of real time life when I tried it out. At the end of the week I still had some data left from the pack I bought and only had to charge it once. I used it everywhere I normally used my phone and like I normally used my phone and used my phone over WiFi for most of the stuff I did.
Again, impractical to have a pre pay for many users but for me it works .
I also am thinking about dropping the Rezound and adding an old Dare I've still got and change the mifi to contracted, use the Rezound on the mifi when away from home. The phone doesn't care if 4g speeds come over the network or WiFi but the battery seems to prefer WiFi. My old Dare lasted for days between charges when I used it for a phone only .
