Here's my take on ics minus performance and battery life.
Fonts are smaller. Way smaller. Just like apps when the phone first came out they've compensated for the screen resolution by shrinking everything. Fine for younger eyes but hard on mine. Swype is unusable it's so small
Menus are a little different, no big changes other than no power setting anymore which I left on high anyway. There is a mouse setting now making me look for a possible mouse addition ?
Boot up time. Under a minute vs over 4 minutes on GB, a HUGE improvement.
I won't judge performance and battery life yet because I've been using it non stop for a couple of hours but signal seems no different and battery temps are pretty much the same. It's more sluggish between screens, opening apps, etc but I'll give it a few reboots before deciding if it's sluggish or just growing pains of a new os like the Tab and Inc always did.
Nothing seems broken except easy wake no longer works on Widget Locker, my favorite feature because the volume buttons are easier to press than the power button for waking the phone.
Freezing apps is no biggie but I froze out the bloatware just to see what the hullabaloo was about.
The fonts thing is bugging me though but maybe, like my apps all did, they'll fix that.

That site "DroidModderx" also has some good stuff on the Nexus as well.

The link will link you to a video to watch to walk you through the whole thing. You will need to verify that you have ADB, but you probably already have it from Rooting the NEXUS. I used Wugs for both devices. Easy as JK
