All of a sudden I"m getting really slow Lte speeds (like 5mbps down). Started last night and has lasted through today. I called Verizon and they said they don't throttle 4G phones, not really sure what's going on. They opened a ticket and said they would check the network and my phone and get back to me. Thing that worries me is another guy in my building has the same phone and his Lte is still blazing. Hopefully it's a short term glitch otherwise I'm going to be a very unhappy camper.

Don't you have wifi at home? Or is this work? Also did you check the speeds in the same locations, his area may have a direct shot to the tower and yours could be through concrete etc.

Turns out the other guy was misreading the speed test app, his Lte was just is slow too. Must be something with the towers today, which makes me feel a little better knowing it's not just my phone. I have WiFi at home but this is at work, and I generally don't use WiFi anymore since Lte is faster plus unlimited data. Hopefully it gets resolved soon.

They might be adding a cell nearby and are "fine tuning" the others around it. A powerful cell on a high tower near me after fine tuning for a new one if standing I'm front of it you go left (north) or stand in front of it (west) it averages about 18mb down,12 up for about a mile. You go right (south) or behind it (east) you average about 45mb down and 40 up for about a mile. This us lunch time speeds. Right after that mile it hands off to my poc, over capacity cell that averages about 4mb down and 1 up but unlike the EVDO part of it doesn't drop the connection for minutes at a time. I'm still tickled with those numbers, slow as they might seem because the cdma part is rock solid and calls are crystal clear since they "fine tuned" it. Capacity is why the data is slower, it's serving the I95 corridor for a few miles .

I guess we'll see Mark. Thing is I happened to do a speed test earlier in the day and hit about 12mb at work (which doesn't have the best reception). At about 11pm at night (when I would presume bandwidth is plentiful) I was hitting about 5mb at home, which is where i can usually top 20mb. Only reason I noticed it was I was updating some apps and it was taking a lot longer than usual.

Give it a few days, if it's not better call and ask for them to put in a trouble ticket and get you r buddy to call too.
