    6/22/12 Off Topic Friday

Good morning peeps, it's Friday!! I thought I'd start out with some good news to share... I am going to be a mom!!
I had my 1st visit to the OB/gyn this week and she said that I am 7 weeks pregnant. The baby is just 0.945 cm big, just a tiny little pea! In the photo, towards the bottom right, near the + is the baby’s heart. I saw the baby's heart beating very fast on the screen, and I have to tell you, it was the most beautiful and wonderful thing I have ever seen, and probably the most precious moment that I will never forget! We are very excited about this!!!!

Congratulations Twee, blessings abound in the group. Did your recent bacon cravings tip you off?

Thanks guys! Unfortunately, I'm restricted to the bacon for a while, among other things! So someone else can have that bacon topping ice cream there!

You do realize that all you're gonna crave to eat is the nasty stuff you were hating the smell of cooking in the morning, and you'll be the one cooking it

Take your vitamins, eat lots of fish and veggies, read books to the baby starting now , have dad talk to the baby like a normal conversation (not baby talk ) and play lots of classical music.
Oh and whatever fears you get, they are normal and you'll do fine just roll with them and keep reminding yourself it's going to be ok.

Thanks Mark! The vitamins, fish and veggies, I can handle no problem. Not sure about the classical music though. They put me to sleep!

That's the point of classical, you're gonna need the sleep, because you aren't gonna get any in several months

That and in a few months when the baby gets restless and starts pushing on internal organs sleep will be precious and far between as well. Make sure to keep a clear walk line to bathrooms so you won't bump into anything at oh dark thirty and you gotta go potty every 30 minutes because baby is kicking the bladder.

Everywhere you go scout out bathroom locations and leave a 30 minute window for arrival times if it's a trip farther than work or the grocery store.
After the baby comes it all changes again and just keep reminding yourself it's all going to be ok, don't take it personal and that they too are doing their best with their blank slate of a brain. A newborn is like a computer before the os is installed and its parents are the os. Remember a computer with the best os still messes up.
