new member. texting help.
I got the Droid about a few days ago worked fine. now, the texting is weird. it will only let me text in landscape mode. the only time it will let me text in the "up and down" way is when I don't tilt thee phone to the left or right. when it does tilt to landscape it won't ,more like it refuses, to go back to the other texting mode. anyone else have this problem? or was it something I did? I was messing with the settings but its all the way I found it. maybe an app did it?

Do other Apps (e.g., Contacts, Search, Market) readily switch back and forth between portrait and landscape mode?

Welcome to the forum
Did you happen to calibrate your phone when messing with the settings?

its always landscape. in opera skyfire and dolphin. calibrated the system and the auto adjustments on. I was looking in the book and it said something about the qwerty compact qwerty and phone keypad. I remember going to that screen that messed with it. but. I can't. find it aagain. could that be the problem?

Main menu, settings , language and keyboard, touch input, text input.
That sets your keypad calibration.
To set the main phone calibration main menu, settings , display, g sensor calibration. Make sure the phone is on its back on a flat surface.
Another little trick that works if all else fails is open Google Sky Map and rotate your phone in several large figure 8s to calibrate the app.
