NEW AND NEED HELP-rebbot issue/root or not to root???

Hello everyone, i am a year old incredible user and im having difficulties with my incredible-ive seen alot of articles on reboot, and rooting issues-im not sure what to do, verizon told me i needed a new battery so i got 2 on ebay for 16bux that are 3500ma-my phone always wants to reboot, and wont stop unless battery pulled, this only occurs when im using the internet for than 2 minutes, and with new battery the handset isnt even hot!!!!!!!-what the heck gives? would rooting help, or not? Im not even sure i understand what the benefits are of rooting????? nor, do i reallyunderstand all the references im reading-so please help if possible and i am a dummy when it comes to the names etc. so i would literally need step by step directions-when i looked up rooting, i read to plug phone into your pc, turn debugging on, but i cant even seem to find debugging on/off on my handset again, i know i saw it once, but cant find again, and NO, i have not rooted, nor has new battery stopped my inc from rebooting once spending more than a few minutes on the internet-"going crazy in orlando"
