There are a lot of things you can learn about Android, rooting , Android apps , etc that transcend model type . Before finding this forum I learned quite a bit on a Moto Droid centric forum
May I suggest you look over at Android.net for your specific model?

Hi...been using my Inc2 on Cricket wasn't impressed I'm in North VA 22314
no international text, so i'm trying simple mobile now, but i'm getting really bad reception in the house & no data/web
