People ask about ATKs alot so.... here is my stance

The android OS uses memory differently than... say a windows machine... The phone keeps apps in memory in order to speed up the phone. In other words it tries to fill the memory. If the phone needs memory it will automatically kill unused tasks. It might be a little confusing to understand. Lets say if skype and other apps are on the "running applications" list but you never use them; that means your phone still has a good amount of memory it can use.

For that reason using task killers can not only shut down good things like alarms and reminders but make widgets stop working and actually cause the phone to use MORE battery power. This is because it not only has the task killer to run but the OS will keep filling the memory with the apps the task killer just closed. Your droid gets really tired having to chase it's tail all the time. Bottom line is they seem to cause more problems than they solve.

Flash the zip in recovery just like a rom, kernel or mod. NOTE: after flashing the phone will take much longer than normal to boot (like several minutes). This is normal!
