HTC-Sync error (1014)
Hi, just joined. New mature user of smartphones. I have installed HTC-Sync on my Windows system but when I select "Sync" it tries to do something and I get the following error msg: "Failure to access PIM folder. (1014)". I just recently retired (as I said in my welcome thread) from working in IT. I presume from this message that HTC-Sync is trying to access my Personal Information Manager or my personal data??? (PIM?) or something and can't to do the sync. I have no idea where to look to fix this up. I have looked through various settings but can't seem to find anything that stands out. I have also gone to the HTC site and also tried to contact them all to no avail. Any help most appreciated.

Try a Google Search for "Failure to access PIM folder". Seems to be related to using a more recent version of Outlook.
I thought that I had posted a reply to this yesterday. Anyway I know what the problem is now - I finally got a reply from HTC support. HTC-Sync ONLY sync's with Microsoft Outlook AND NOTHING ELSE. I don't have Outlook hence the problem. I have gotten around it in other more painstaking ways. Also HTCsuport sent me an HTC Backup program that can backup your contacts, calendar, SMS and Call logs to the SD card so I'll give that a go to see how that goes.
This issue can be closed now - how doI do that??
