CM vs MIUI
Which do you prefer? Cyanogenmod or MIUI. I have been a loyal user to CM for a while and am currently in the process of a NANDroid backup.
I will then install the latest MIUI and try that for a while. I absolutely LOVE the ability to customize almost every aspect of the GUI in cyanogenmod. Am i going to like MIUI? Do you?
If not, what do you recommend eh?

Im an avid CM user as well. been on CM7 Nightlies since day one. (running #23 at the moment).
I tried MIUI awhile back and to me it was all about the GUI, nothing special beyond the look and feel. If you always wanted to try an iPhone, then MIUI is probably the closest. My brother has an iPhone and thought that I somehow loaded iOS on my Inc. I will say that I only used it for a couple days, so I am not the best judge of MIUI.

oh yea?

I am going to try CM soon, but MIUI is awesome. I don't particularly care about the app drawer, and some of the transition animations are really cool. Battery life has been great, had skyraider sense 3.5 before and it was a battery hog. MIUI is like the best of IOS (prettiness factor) and Android (widgets) combined IMHO.

Well i've been on miui for about two days now. Ive got to admit, i hated it at first but now i think its beginning to grow on me.
The initial setup is so much lighter on the hands as well.
I mean, CM is freaking amazing, but there is a lot of work needed to put into it to make it look the way you want.
MIUI on the other hand looks pretty good out of the box.
Only took a few minutes and a titanium restore to get it looking and running how i wanted.
Now i think i like it, also referred it to a Mac user, he loved it.
If you haven't tried it, give it a few days.

Keep an eye out, I think 2.4 on MIUI is about to drop. Not sure exactly what will be changing in it yet. Been watching it on the MIUI forum.

MIUI is a AOSP ROM so, yes, you need to use AOSP kernels. Depends on what you mean by "best". You're gonna have to poke around, but I can say that invisiblek's kernels are great for battery.
