SLCD and ROMs
Hi,
I recently upgraded from a Droid 1 to the Incredible (SLCD) and just rooted yesterday using the instructions http://www.incredibleforum.com/forum...ed-3-22-a.html and am now running Cyanogenmod 6.1 Stable.
My initial thought was that once I was past the initial root I would not need to worry about my phone being SLCD vs AMOLED, but today I was considering using a Gingerbread mod found here: Incredible Gingerbread[Android 2.3]{OMGB v5 12-22 @ 11:02 PM CST}[BIG Fixes] - xda-developers
but there was a warning about some SLCD users having issues.
Being SLCD, are there certain ROMs or Kernels i need to avoid or watch out for? Or maybe just a general rule of thumb I should follow?

I have an SLCD screen and had to do the recovery fix like you did, and am actually running 6.1 as well(great choice!!). I have flashed numerous Roms and have found no conflicts as of yet. Not saying there are none because the boys over at xda are smart and if they say it doesnt work, dont use it. The gingerbread roms are so skin and bones, you wont like it anyways. most barely have working audio and camera as of now. hope this helps.

Oh yeah, that definitely puts my mind more at ease. Thanks.
I am definitely liking CM 6.1, but after using Sense for just a day I'm already missing it, lol. Was thinking of Virtuous to get Sense back.

The SLCD screens use a different touch screen driver than the AMOLED screen so there can be issues. Usually a kernel swap will alleviate that. Since we're seeing more and more SLCD's, I think the devs are more conscious of making ROMs cross compatible.

Yeah, I figured its been long enough that most of the big devs are keeping that in mind.
I just got the new phone jitters right now and afraid of bad things happening
give it a few months and i'll probably be snowboarding with it in my jacket, haha

Just be sure to read all requirements before flashing any ROMs and follow instructions.
Welcome to the forum, btw!
