I wanna make custom sounds for every notification within the phone.
Howdy, I do a little bit of sound design, and I love the whole aesthetic of "cold relentless machinery with sophistication" that the droid has got going, meshes well with the kind of stuff I like to make.
That said, I have two questions.
1: Would anyone be kind enough as to give me a full list individual notifications (Sms, Phone Call, Email, etc etc)
2: Who would be interested in this sorta thing? I planned on making them for myself and a few friends, but I'd be more than willing to share with you guys if there was any interest.

Believe the Handcent App is what you're looking for as far as complete customization. I haven't used it but its what everyone raves about.

Sorry, I should have been clear. Handcent isn't for the actual sounds, it enables the complete customization as far as where you want to be able to assign your sounds to.

ok.
i'm up to three sounds so far.

handcent is great. how do I turn off the stock app notification at top of screen?
-
You have texts, mms, stock notification, which covers email, calendars, and voice mail unless you get another app for them . Add in gmail and alarm clock as far as what sounds the stock phone will use. Widget Locker allows change to the lock/unlock sound. There are more but that is a basic start.
I'd suggest Whoisit to customize the most of them within 1 app. Handcent is nice for texts but whoisit allows custom gmail tones, text, k9 mail, calls, mms, for individual contacts as well as default tones.
