    Boot Cycling

My Droid Inc. was running the stable cyanogen mod 7. Last night when i left it charging in my truck, it began doing a reboot cycle. Tried several times to take out the battery and let cool. When that didnt work i started it in hboot to try and access the recovery feature. when i selected recovery it rebooted the phone to the white htc logo screen. when that didnt work i tried putting the P31IMG.zip file on the sd card and went thru the process of updating the phone to that. it all acted like it installed, then when it asked to reboot, i told it yes. it restarted but went right back into the boot cycle. i need help cause everything that ive read wont work so far.

Where did you get the P31IMG.zip file? Link to it?

One i got from xda forums, [ROM] HTC Droid Incredible Stock ROMs w/malware patch(NOV OTA) (UPDATED 3/14/11) - xda-developers, the second one was the HTC downgrade version. Neither of them worked.

the major issue im having is that it wont boot up past the white htc loading screen, and i cant access the recovery option from the hboot.

Try this one from Doug's site, http://dougpiston.com/files/RUU/buil...00_PB31IMG.zip. Make sure you rename to PB31IMG and then copy to your card.

i used the file from the link you gave me. still doesnt work. after installing the update and rebooting, still got stuck in a reboot cycle. when i tried to get into recovery from hboot, it tried to load recovery, but rebooted. i tried to clear out user data and during that, it rebooted as well.

Try the RUU method from here, How to get back to complete stock from s-off

Sounds like you're screwed like me. I tried the RUU the img file even erasing and flashing each individual system file. No dice. Cant get past hboot

Sent from my DROID2 using Tapatalk

even when i try that, the s stays off. doesnt seem like its writing the files correctly or something.

you have to flash the s-off patch in recovery before unrooting with the RUU or system img

thats part of the problem, i cant get into recovery. when i try to launch the recovery, it shows the screen for a second, then the phone begins its reboot process.
