Question Cyanogenmod Boot Loop. Can't Restore Backup

I rooted my phone using the unrevoked method. I installed Titanium Backup and did a complete backup of apps and data. I then installed ROM manager and downloaded and installed CyanogenMod. I backed up my ROM using ROM manager before I flashed CyanogenMod. The CyanogenMod got stuck in a boot loop, so did a restore using Clockwork Mod recovery, and when I try to reboot the phone is stuck on the white htc incredible screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try the method in the following link to get you back up and running

Downgrade to unroot. Huge No No! | doug piston

Some say that ROM manager has issues. It isn't out of the realm of possibility that the ROM manager backup is at fault.

Just as an FYI- ROM Manager did have issues last night. Server with backup copies of recoveries went down but it should be back to normal now.

The link posted above is for the SLCD Incredible. Will it still work for the AMOLED one? Is there anyway I can load a new ROM onto the SD card via USB and boot into that? Let me know what you guys think I should do. Thanks

Yes it will work for AMOLED

If you have a micro sd to USB adapter it would be best to use that to put the files on.

Format your card to FAT32. Don't unzip but rename this file to PB31IMG http://dougpiston.com/files/RUU/buil...00_PB31IMG.zip

Flash through HBoot (power plus volume down when booting up).

WHEWWW. That worked. Thank you so much for the help. Any recommendations for how I should install new ROMs in the future?

Stay away from CM nightlies. They're not stable releases and have a lot of bugs. They're only meant for the most experienced users. Try something Sense-based like Redemption ROM for the time being.

Doesn't change my advice. CM nightlies are appropriate for people who can troubleshoot easily. They're not stable releases and inherently have bugs that need to be worked out. Beginners are better off staying away from them until they are more comfortable dealing with issues that may arise.
