Ok. So I think I may have done something incredibly stupid.
I was checking out the uncapped data MOD and noticed nobody has said it wouldn't work on the MIUI ROM (I noticed someone posted up in XDA saying it worked on 1.1.7) so I figured I would give it a shot. I made a backup of my current setup (MIUI 1.1.26), placed the .zip on my SD and flashed.
From this thread. xda-developers - View Single Post - [MOD] Data Service Governer Killer - Updated with How To:
Someone linked to it from the MIUI forum.
The problem: After my phone booted up the white HTC Incredible splash screen, the screen would go blank and not do anything and became unresponsive. I pulled the battery and immediately went into HBOOT and booted into Recovery. I attempted to restore a a previous version of MIUI 1.1.24 and was stuck on "Checking MD5 sums" for awhile. The "Checking MD5 sums" issue happened when trying to restore 3 other backups I had in which I had to pull the battery each time.
I downloaded a fresh copy of MIUI 1.1.26 and used my buddies DInc to load the .zip file on my SD, then placed my SD card back in my phone. Booted my phone into HBOOT and manually flashed MIUI. Phone runs fine, however, I am concerned about my backups since I would feel safer having something to revert back to.
EDIT: Here is the thread I probably should have tried to obtain this MOD http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=891047.
It worked on MIUI 12.24.
