Connecting Phone with computer to teather

First off every time i connect my phone with my Mac book pro i get a disk read error. i have read to ignore this and move forward. After i downloaded Pdanet to both my computer and my phone it will not find my phone even though both my phone and SD card show up on my computer. What am i doing wrong please help i am beyond frustrated

Does anyone currently online have a Mac? I use Windows and am useless when it comes to Macs.

Found this on another board and can attest that it works:

Apparently is is related to a VZW CD-Rom 'feature' that you can turn off.
Dial ##7764726 (##PROGRAM)
Hit Call
Type Password is 000000
Hit Feature Settings
Choose CD ROM
Click Disable
Hit menu, commit modifications (it will say no item changed)
Back out to home

I still have that same issue with the error when I plug my phone into my macbook but ignoring it seems to work, I just did the PDAnet last week and at first I could not get it to work either so what I did is I went to the website on the MB first and downloaded it there and restarted the MB as instructed, than the icon appeared up top, but for some reason I still could not get them to link, so I followed the link on the website instructions for the download on my phone. I restarted both devices again and on the phone you have to make it discoverable in the settings which the site instructions will explain to you and when I plugged the dinc in and enabled usb tether from the app on the phone and then went to the icon up top hit connect and it took approx 30-60 seconds for the icon to turn blue and it worked and works well. Would rather have it bluetooth but this will work for the small amount of time I use it. Hope it helps
