Please Help. Installation Aborted.
So I just got an incredible yesterday. The guy like to modded phones he rooted it, had superuser, ultimate droid, and some other stuff that i dont know how to use.
Anyway I wanted to start fresh, so i unrooted the phone using a youtube tutorial. The phone went back to "normal" i believe. However i noticed i didnt have 2.2. My phone currently says it has 2.1-update 1. So i tried to manually update to 2.2 and this is what i got:
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command
--Install from sdcard...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
Installing update...
assert failed: file_getprop("/system/build.prop"
, "ro.build.fingerprint") == "verizon/inc/inc/in
c:2.1-update1/ERE27/161494:user/release-keys" ||
file_getprop("/system/build.prop", "ro.bu
ild.fingerprint") == "verizon_wwe/inc/inc/inc:2.
2/FRF91/231334:user/release-keys"
E:Error in /sdcard/update.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
I searched for posts and found this one and seems like it fixed the problem for that guy but the link for the "MAY OTA" doesnt work anymore. I dont know what to do since I am a new to this stuff and dont want to screw my phone up.

i believe if you still have clockwork installed it will block it. Doug's link should work for you tho.
-
Use the tutorial Doug posted a link to. It should work regardless of the current setup. Your radio will be updated at the same time Froyo is installed.

ok guys thanks ill try that right now.
-
ok so i did that. This is what i got
sd checking...
loading...(pb31diag.zip)
no image!
loading...(pb31diag.nbh)
No image or wrong image!
loading...(pb31img.zip)
Wrong zip image
And then goes back hboot screen and asks if i want to fastboot, recovery, clear storage, simlock.
I formated my sd card to fat32. And put the File name as PB31IMG no zip at the end. and followed the instructions. anything im doing wrong?

You need to add the .zip extension at the end. Just make sure your extensions are not hidden to avoid a double name (ie. .zip.zip)

im pretty sure i did it the right way. when i look at details on the file it is called "PB31IMG.zip" but i tried the other way just in case but it loads really fast and i think ignores the file. So no confusion I pretty sure the file is named right

You have the PB31IMG.zip on the root of your SD card right?
