content on sd card keeps disappearing

Installed an update to my incredible's software that I was prompted to do upon startup, all of the media on my phone routinely keeps disappearing after a few hours of it running. When I restart the phone and wait a few minutes its all there but then goes away after again. I have everything backed up on my computer but I'd like to access my content whenever I want without doing a restart. If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know.
