What happened?!?

So I took my phone off the charger last night after it was fully charged to wake up this morning having my phone off. It had turned off in the night, and when I tried to turn it back on it gave me a screen with pretty colored writing giving me the specs of my phone and the options to reboot, restore to factory settings, and two other options. So, I chose reboot, thinking that the craziness would end. Instead, I saw the HTC Incredible white loading screen, and then a black screen with an image of my phone and a red "failed to send" symbol on it. The phone is unresponsive to both the power and any other buttons. Now as I'm looking at it, the image is gone and the phone looks dead. I just got this phone about a month or two ago.....

Start by pulling the battery, then again trying to boot.

I've tried that about three times, and the phone won't even turn on. I tried putting it back on the charger and the orange light comes on like it is charging, but the phone itself doesn't turn on.

Unplug the phone and pull the battery. Then put the battery back and charge the phone for a little while, maybe an hour or so. Then see if you can turn it on. It doesn't look good if you still cannot turn it on.
