Boot-Loop! :D season 1: Locked Bootloader; unable to use recovery - cannot hard reset
This has been an interesting experience, as I have no idea how to progress with everything I've read so far.
Please note that this phone has not undergone any unlocking, rooting, modding, nor "hacking".
The doosie (problem):
Of course, the phone bootloops; it won't get any further than the initial splash screen (HTC Incredible) before rebooting and repeating that until the battery loses charge. My largest issue is that I'm unable to utilize any recovery options. For example, when I select "Factory Reset," under Hboot, it'll immediately return to the initial splash screen and begin the bootloop. Same goes for every option other than "Sim Unlock" and "Fast Boot". I suppose my largest issue is that I'm unable to locate any documentation to resolve this issue.
Perhaps there's an option I'm missing? So anyone is aware, I plan on modding the phone once I'm able to get it to boot correctly; so any options that require voiding warranties will fancy my filthies if it solves this problem.
Additionally, I'm more than happy with submitting more information.
Thank you all in advance!

How long has been been bootlooping, and what was happening before all this bootloops started? Some more history on that would help.

Tweebee, I appreciate your willingness to help.
The history would be difficult to give, since I just received the phone as it is a couple of days ago. The person who gave it to me mentioned that he never tried rooting the device; only that in its normal use, it began bootlooping. When I first got it, it finally booted past the initial splash screen and I noticed that he had "android task-killer" or some application relevant installed. The phone rebooted shortly after that application started and continued rebooting at the initial splash screen.
Since then I've tried a couple new things. I was able to unlock the bootloader through HTC dev and flash clockwork recovery onto the recovery partition; however, I cannot boot into Clockwork's recovery or the incredible's OS. It still reboots right after the initial splash screen appears.

There wouldn't be a way to flash the system image through Fastboot, would there?

If you have ADB working, you can fastboot the different partitions if you have the proper img files, but this is not for the fainted heart though.
