How do I reload my original OS?
I recently bought a stock Inc and after the last update, it works for a few hours, reboots several times, and repeats work/reboot. I've done a Clear Storage and Factory Reset from the HBOOT menu, but neither helps. I don't have a Verizon contract, so I can't bring it to them. I've found RUU and PB31IMG images on the web, but am not sure which to install. I read that I can load the image onto the SD card (FAT32 formatted), but don't know what to do at that point. So would you all please help with the following:
1) Which image do I use - RUU or PB31IMG, both or something else?
2) Would you recommend that I use the latest GB image or go back to an older one? If older, which one?
3) After I get the image onto the SD card, how do i get the phone to load it?
4) Do you have a recommended source for images? (in case the ones I found are not good)
5) Anything else I need to know that I haven't asked?
Thanks for any/all input!

Follow these instructions to take your phone back to stock, How to get back to complete stock from s-off. This will be Froyo since that was the original OS.

Hang on a second- did you accept the 2.3.4 OTA to Gingerbread within the past few weeks?

Yes, that did download and I installed it. I was wondering if it's best to go back to original Froyo or just load a Gingerbread image. Do you recommend going straight to Gingerbread and skipping another OTA upgrade? If so, is it correct to follow the How to get back to complete stock from s-off instructions, but just use the Gingerbread image? If so, can you point me to the correct Gingerbread image(s) that should be used? Thanks!

Why not do a factory reset and still keep Gingerbread?

Neither Factory Reset nor Clear Storage has helped with frequent reboots. Perhaps there was some problem caused during the OTA Gingerbread installation, so I wanted to try redoing the phone from scratch.
