g-mail help

Hello every one and i would like to thank everyone in advance for any help that is given to me, the last to days my g-mail app has lost its icon i just have the android picture in it's place and every time i try to enter my g-mail i get the following "The application Gmail (process com.google.android.gm )has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.

But every time i have tried again and again i get the same thing ! Does any one know whats happening with my incredible ?? i don't even see my g-mail app in my apps ?? please help
