What shut down? Did the RUU run or no? You where asking if you needed to install sync. Yes you do.
This is a discussion on Phone Stuck in Loop - Help Pls within the HTC Incredible Rescue Squad Rooted Help forums, part of the HTC Incredible Rescue Squad category; What shut down? Did the RUU run or no? You where asking if you needed to install sync. Yes you do....
I did everything as instructed. The RUU program said the install was successful and rebooted the phone as a last step in the process. The first phone boot post RUU installation resulted in the same boot loop.
i have a simalare problem i get the htc white splash screen
when i do the power on and volume down it goes into the hboot screen in green it says something about the image missing
or something like that
i am not about this stuff
how do i reflash an image
please help thanks
I am sorry to say that my phone never recovered from the problem. I tried every option available. I can only assume my issue was related to a hardware failure.
My sorrow was overcome by getting a shiny new Thunderbolt. Good luck to you.
I don't want to hijack, but I am. I also am having similar problems. My DInc rebooted yesterday out of the blue and got back to the white HTC screen, then proceeded to reboot back to the same screen; rinse, repeat forever. I am able to get to the hboot screen; however, any option I chose would put me back to teh reboot process without choice. I've searched around and found this thread, followed the instructions within to my best ability and formatted sd card on my pc, put that file on the root of the card, renamed it to PB31IMG and proceeded to get back to hboot. It now recognizes the .zip file (without the extension in the name), parses the files and asks if I want to update. I choose yes, says blue OK next to green [1] recovery, completes update and asks if I want to reboot. I choose yes, I get back to white screen loop of eternity; I choose no, it takes me back to hboot where any choice I make goes to that damned loop. I installed the sync software and ran the RUU program, but my computer won't recognize the device, as it won't get past the loop. I'm at a loss, no clue on my next step, but this seems like a good place to start.
Okay...My phone did the same thing. I searched and found many websites, all of which did not help. But I have a solution that worked for me.
I had an incredible, dropped it, went through insurance, got a new one. When I got my new one the first thing I thought about doing was rooting it again like my old one. So I immediately jailbroke it with unrevoked3 (it all went smoothly). I then went through rommanager and downloaded Skyraider Sense 4.2 (because thats my favorite ROM). Thats when I went to install it through rom manager that I got the endless bootloop. I let my phone charge and continue bootlooping for 10 hours hoping something would happen...I tried reloading the rom, clearing all my data, EVERYTHING! Nothing worked until I remembered that I had a warm z rom on my sd card. I went into my recovery screen, loaded the warm z rom, and am now running that and loving it!
SO, TO SUM IT ALL UP, I SUGGEST YOU PUT A COPY OF A ROM YOU KNOW THAT WORKS ONTO YOUR SD CARD, LOAD IT THROUGH THE RECOVERY MENU, AND YOU SHOULD BE FINE! GOOD LUCK!
