sd card wiped on its own

I have in incredible and tonight i was loading some apps... did a back up.... loaded two more apps .. phone kinda flicked or an app closed( was watching tv too) then my sd card music and photos were almost all gone( just a few picks taken with phone were there... i went into linda manager and my sd card still showed 7 gb or so out of 8 mb ( almost full). But the movies and music and media files were empty.??? i closed app... reopened ... still showed 7gb... but files empty... then power off and on and poof now only 2.5 gb and all media gone? i had a zipped back up of the sd card saved on the sd card as well as on my pc and a second sd card.... but the original file i saved was bad ? cant i zip and unzip on device then move as a back up copy for restoration on the device? when i try to extract the zip file(384mb) it just opens to an empty file of same name ???? i know that is alot. Any help would be great.. Rooted Stock rom ..

Sorry hope I'm reading this right, that was a lot to take in. So you have a backup of your SD card on your PC, correct? If so, try formatting the SD card then moving the backup files from the PC to the SD card. This is of course assuming you have a full backup as once you format everything on the SD Card will be gone.

If it doesn't take, it could be that the SD card has gone bad.
