Hello All,

This is my first post although I found the forum early this year and rooted my dinc with the EXCELLENT post I found here. Have been loving it - unfortunately I forgot like everything and now I can't stand the System Update failures for Gingerbread anymore... so I went to upgrade to CM7. I'm at the same fail point (on my part!) as the original post here.

Several times I've gone into HBOOT, factory reset - wipe/reset, and then factory reset - wipe cache, and then installed CM7.1 from my SD card. Upon rebooting, I can't log into a Google account. I have no Market either.

http://www.clockworkmod.com/download/htc/inc/ is a dead link now. I feel bad that I'm asking someone smart to catch the same fish they caught a year ago again... but man this test kernel sounds like it could help me even though I don't really understand the concept.

I did go into the Droid Inc section of ClockworkMod but I couldn't find a test Kernel that seemed to be the one. Furthermore I did the same routine trying to install CM 7.0.3 and same thing with no market / Google account setup ability. I tried Fix Permissions or w/e in Superuser and rebooted... no dice.

Would appreciate any help. I'm about 6 hours into this thing so I figured I'd register and write my own HELP ME PLSSSZZZ post

Thank you, Aerysana. No I had not done that... didn't understand the concept... but your question led me to this article Flashing the new CM7 Gapps | Android Central and made it clear as day why gapps is the answer.

20 minutes after reading your response I'm up and running in CM7.1. Time to do my room mate's phone!!
