Rooting... Formatting...
In ClockworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.0, I did a wipe and factory reset, and installed a new ROM (Clutchv1.0 by PureMotive). Everything went fine until my phone rebooted and after the logo htc incredible splash screen, my phone turned black. I rebooted the phone and it did the same thing. Also, when it's black screen, my PC gets a message saying that the disk drive needs to be formatted. When I try to do it, it says it's write protected. So right now, I can get into CWM, but not my home screen. Help? Thanks.

Did you make a nandroid backup that you can restore?

No I didn't, I should have though.

Try the RUU from here Stock Images | PvilleComp's. If it works, it should bring you back to stock.

So I did that, and then I didn't know whether my phone was rooted or not, probably not yet because I didn't have superuser permission installed, so I then went to unroot my phone following the directions here.

Then I went to root again follow the directions here.
[How To] Root 2.3.4/downgrade and Get S-off - Android Forums
So now I'm at the part of superuser permission, I have it installed, but when I load the app, it's just a black screen. I even went to clear data and reload the app, still opens but it's just black..
What am I doing wrong???

Okay so now, I'm at android 2.2, rooted, s-OFF.. Next up, was to install a ROM. I went into my recovery to install ROM from sdcard and it installed fine. When I rebooted phone, it loaded the white screen logo and the phone turned black. Phone was still on, but just black. Then I got a popup on my PC saying that the drive had to be formatted to FAT32. I checked earlier and the drives were already FAT32..Help?

RUU back as you did before and see if you'll get the same error running stock.

I don't get any errors running the stock, it's when I install a ROM, that's where it turns black after the htc incredible splash.
