Incredible - Constantly Shutting off

My phone recently began restarting randomly, and has only stayed on for five minutes at a time, at most. The problem started after using the newest release of CyanogenMod and using its torch app. I needed to use the app extensively last weekend, and figured the restarts were due to the phone overheating. I have since gone back to the stock incredible rom, and have only had the phone on long enough to set up my email. The crashes come randomly and dont stem from the use of any one app. Whenever the phone crashes it sucks tons of energy from the battery, i went from a full charge to completely dead in less than thirty minutes this morning.

I appreciate any help, and hope to get this resolved soon.

Try cleaning the battery contacts with a pencil eraser.

Sorry that did not work, i checked the battery for bumps or irregularities but for the most part it is normal. Is there any other steps i can do to make sure the battery is working normally? Whenever the phone shuts down it does so without a message saying that it is, it just dies.

old thread i know, but did this ever get figured out? i have one doing the same thing after using cynogenmod and torch. i tried changing roms and it still does it.
