I followed the instructions and finally got the update installed. I had never gotten the "low on space" message before but now it is there constantly. I just ignore it but it is quite irritating. Does ANYONE have a solution for this? Thanks.

I know this is an older topic, but I hope someone is still around that can help

I am trying to follow these instructions to get the update on my wife's Incredible. The problem is, her up volume button is defective. She uses a sound manager to control her volume, which is fine, except that I can't get into recovery without the up volume button. Is there any other way to get into recovery on a non-rooted device?

I'm afraid I have no suggestions for you. There may be a way to do it but I am unaware of any. If you like the incredible, then what my wife did when she lost hers was to buy one on ebay for like $20.

I was hoping this wouldn't happen, but it did end up happening on my wife's phone after I forced the update through. Eventually we were able to figure it out; she uses the stock messages app for text messages and never deletes them. Eventually she sent so many text messages it actually filled up the internal storage (!!!) but for whatever reason text messages aren't counted against internal storage so there was no indication that she was actually so low on space. So we cleared her text message cache and all was well. If anyone is still getting memory low alerts, you should look into that. I use the handcent app for text messages which automatically deletes old messages on threads longer than 200 messages so I didn't have this problem.

Please tell me where I can get a replacement Incredible for $20? All the ones I see on Ebay are around $80 unless there is a hardware problem with them. Please post a link if you have one!
