It looks like Verizon made a little booboo and shipped out some Droid Incredibles a bit early. A user on Youtube posted a video showing off an unboxing of the early unit. It appears as if Verizon has these units in stock and that a shipping glitch let a few units out.
I can't imagine Apple would ever make a mistake like this but at least a drunken nerd didn't leave it at a bar
With as tightly run as Verizon has been in the past, I just honestly can't decide if this is a mistake or not. I've been theorizing up until now that they are tinkering with a different kind of advertising, letting the rumors and gossip fuel the fires for this phone. So far, it looks like its working well. Now think about it, let a few out to some random people gambling they'll post up about it, and boom, another burst in interest. I might be wrong, but I would about bet good money this is what's going on.
I would give anything to see the inner workings of Verizon to see if I'm right.

Yes and if this was their strategy all along it will boost interest as well as get more people to pre-order thinking they will maybe get it early.
dayam lucky bastard (if this was true). 8 more freakin days!!!
I believe its true. I saw someone on a forum say they their order was shipped and they were tripping out thinking it was a mistake. Verizon may have done it on accident or they may have done it on purpose as part of a marketing strategy.

That's what I'm really thinking. Tell me you didn't call today trying to jar them a little after reading about some people being sent theirs. I'll admit I did.

LOL nope im actually waiting for it to hit stores because my upgrade is complicated. I'm on a family plan so i'm using another lines eligible upgrade only I'm getting the phone. By doing it in store I'm making sure that the line I'm using the upgrade on will not get the $30/month smart phone charge on it as well.

I'm actually doing the same thing. I asked the rep on the phone and he said it would be fine, when I activated the phone, it will ask which phone number its going on. I may need to call one of the stores or another rep to verify because I would REALLY hate to get the phone and not have this work like I was told. Worst case I'll deal with the $100 debit card. I, for the life of me, can't remember with previous activations if it asked for the phone number you were activating for. I vaguely think I remember that, but not sure. If it is truly the case, that would be nice and easy.

Why do I have my doubts? LOL
Haha i do it in store to avoid all confusion. With my Droid i dont remember it asking me which number when i wiped it after the 2.1 update so im not sure. If all goes well by Tuesday you can always leave it in the box and take it directly to a VZW corporate store and have them activate it for you. If the phone thing doesn't work out by Tuesday i would just wait a few days and go into your corporate store early in the morning Thursday.
