Newest Gingerbread Update for Droid Incredible Rolling Out Now

Gingerbread is finally rolling out for the Droid Incredible. We had a false-start back in September in which the update started to roll-out, but was quickly yanked. Obviously, they must have found a few more bugs to squish. This newest update, version 4.08.605.2, has again been officially announced by Verizon. Perhaps today this one will stick?
Here's some update instructions from VZW: Verizon Droid Incredible Gingerbread Update Instructions
Thanks to trestevenson for the tip!

Is 4.08.605.2 supposed to be the Android version or the software version? On my way to work this morning I got the upgrade notice but because I had to go to court, I couldn't watch it so I just let it run. This afternoon when I got home, I checked the settings and the Android version I have (Incredible) is 2.2 and the software version is 3.26.605,1. Isn't that still Froyo? When I hit "System Updates" it says I have the current version.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message.

I guess the build number for GB is 4.08.605.2. That's not what I have. Did I mess something up? What now?
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message.

I got Mine tonight and i went to download it and it said i didn't have enough Space in Storage and i had to delete stuff and now I can't get it to download again. I already tried pulling the battery and restarting but nothing, Any Idea's how to get it to download again??

I was on the "broken" Gingerbread release for a couple of months. The main issue was the Voice Recognition not working (clearing data worked temporarily, but then it always broke again). I upgraded to this new 4.08.605.2, and things work fine, and all my apps are still there. Don't notice any new apps, other than maybe Flash Player settings (I don't remember having that one). So far, the Voice Recognition works great. Hoping the fix doesn't create any new issues.

I got the 4.08.605.2 this morning. After it installed, LauncherPro was not available. All apps were there, but all I could see is HTC Sense. It took me about a half hour of forum searching before I found out how to get back to LauncherPro. Bottom line: It wasn't a flawless installation.

My Incredible did the same thing this morning, told me I didn't have enough space in storage to download the update and then it was gone -- anyone know how to get this update again????

Yesterday, I got "Software Number 4.06.605.3" which upgraded to "Android version 2.3.4" ... This morning I got a notification that there is another update "to the recent update" but I didn't have the presence of mind (having just woken up to the message) to write down the version number. I tried to then install it, and when I came out of the shower, I had the message that there was not enough phone storage space to install the software. It suggested that I remove some apps.
When I looked at the app manager, (home screen > menu > settings > applications > manage applications) it shows that I'm using 449MB and that there is 399 MB free. (But the pre-fetched downloaded app was 8.6 MB -- I do recall that.) Also, I was getting that stupid stupid message about not having much internal storage left. (Incidentally, my /emmc and /scard partitions each have GIGS free, and /cache has 162MB free.)
NOW after moving angry birds (three of them heh,) to the SD card, and temporarily uninstalling Google+, Facebook, and several others, I've freed up quite a bit. Internal storage now has 414MB available, and 334MB used.
And I can't find where to re-start this latest update.
I got to About Phone > System Updates ... and it tells me "your system is currently up to date."
I know the update has already been downloaded to my phone. It told me that when I hit the button "more info" or something when it first notified me about this new one.
What do I do now, just wait and see? That's not very incredible.
[EDIT] Yeah, ballz. It looks like I do just sit and wait, while basking in the warmth of wi-fi coverage. The bottom of this page, in the roaming section: http://support.verizonwireless.com/pdf/system_update/incredible_instructions.pdf
And to the posts before and after, thank you ... it seems I am not alone.
;o\
I think maybe when my vzw contract is up, I'll go with a different carrier. T-Mobile or Virgin maybe. But probably not Ma Bell.

The question is, Will this Update fix the TERMINAL problem: Low on space | Phone storage space is getting low.
I may never know because I need an update to fix the problem so the update can install.
HTC makes great phones, but it is stuff like this that makes me sometimes think.... perish the thought... Wow, I could have had a ..... No, I can't say it.... But you get the point.
Note: My current version is: 4.06.605.3
