What you can also do, since you mentioned of copying music over to your card... Make a backup of your SD card. Then format it and do the factory reset again. Though, I find it hard to think that it's the SD card causing the issue. But doing this would really give you a clean slate, and if you are still having problem then I would say it's possibly hardware related.

Good idea, and one that I had thought of. It's the only other thing that I can figure that would be causing the problem. I'll have to wait until I get home from work tonight to do it, because my battery is totally dead already.
On the subject of music... is there a limit to the the number of files the Droid Incredible can handle?? It refuses to see all of my music, and this is the third 32gb card I've tried with the same results. Once I copy all of my music over to a folder simply named "Music" on the SD card, the Droid will return an error and tell me that the SD card is mounted as "read only", and I can only access a quarter of my music files via HTC Music app on the phone.

If the same conditions keep being replaced after the reset then yes it would continue. I'm leaning toward it being the card now as well, possibly the folders the op made, not the card itself. It could be tricking the media player into thinking it is being used when its not? I don't know squat about code but remember from my VIC20 days 1 little thing can make a big mess

Not sure what you mean about 'the same conditions keep being replaced'. If you are referring to apps, I'm not replacing any of them. Gonna remove the card tonight and see if that is the culprit.
...and you CAN'T be referring to a Commodore VIC20, are you??
I went thru 3 C-64s myself... LOL

If the folders on the card are the problem when you reset the phone the problem is still there and will repeat the same issues. you covered the possible buggy app by not putting any apps on after a reset but lets say Tapatalk was the problem. You do a reset, put Tapatalk back on, problem still there because conditions were redone to pre reset condition.
Yes VIC 20 was my first and only attempt at programming.

Okay, apparently the culprit was the music folder that I created on the SD card and tried to dump all of my music folders into. I had to remove the music folder, and now the Incredible is working fine.
Thanks for all of the help and ideas!

Glad it's back to again
