Droid Incredible and Verizon FTW!!!! haha
This is a discussion on Quick question about hard reset within the HTC Incredible Help forums, part of the HTC Incredible Assistance category; Droid Incredible and Verizon FTW!!!! haha...
How do you do a hard reset?
My mind is the weapon. Everything else is merely an accessory.

The easiest way is in Settings go to Privacy then click "factory data reset"
If you do a factory data reset and you have synced your google account with the Inc. What happens to all the data on your google account. I assume all the google info on the phone is bye bye. Basically, you're starting from square one right?

Why do ppl call our phones, "Dinc?" Makes it sound like a puny crappy phone or a sound effect when you flick something
You have Android now. Stop whining and complaining that iphone was easy/better... why the hell did you switch for?
If youre going to change phones, be sure you're able to accept "CHANGE" and yes thats a change in how things are done. Its plain and simple
Btw, have a nifty day! (^_^)
Now... wheres my beer???
No, The google stuff is Saved. You contacts, paid apps and stuff like that are all saved and when you put your Google account back in the phone your contacts (if you synced all contacts to google) and paid apps come right back on the phone.
A Data Reset basically sets your phone to square one but the Google stuff is saved on your Google account. You will lose all Free apps and any other stuff you had on the phone though.
After a hard (factory) reset, how does one re-enter one's telephone number on the Incredible?
VZW offers a system called Backup Assistance that can backup your contacts securely. Its all locked with a pin you set up. You can regain access to those backed up contacts after you hard-reset by logging into Backup Assistance and loading up the numbers. You can find ouut more by calling them, going online to their site, or going into a store and have them help you set it up.
Or you can have them transfer the numbers from your previous phone if its still recent from your receival of the incredible. If you have them transfer it, you might as well ask about the Backup Assistance.

Well, I couldn't get BackupAssistant working at all, it never synced. So I got in touch with Verizon Tech Support and got email yesterday telling me in effect: "sorry, B/A doesn't yet work for the Incredible".
Be that as it may, my question was about my phone number (singular), not my phone numbers (plural) -- IOW, I was NOT inquiring about my contacts, which are now backed up to two Google accounts.
I was asking if a hard reset wiped out the Incredible's knowledge of ITS OWN CELL NUMBER, and if so, how to re-enter my number short of visiting the store where I bought the unit.
