    Android market failure

    I try to access adnroid maket and i get a window with a message of The application Market (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. What can I do to get the market to work again?

    Are you rooted and if so, what ROM are you running? What else have you done to the phone and is it stock or modified?

    Strange but I've had some market failure today as well, maybe some issues on the web? Sun Spots?

    I was getting this issue as well. It started on Monday, the day after flashing CM7 RC1. Market was running fine on Sunday when I flashed but then on Monday started getting force close whenever i started it.

    I seem to have fixed it though. Press Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage applications > All and then scroll down to "Market" then select "Uninstall updates".

    After this I was able to open the Market with no issues. Everything is now running fantastically.

    I got the same problem today. I bought HTC Desire yesterday and I tried to open the Market but I realised that I don't have one. So I downloaded it but now, I'm getting this message when I try to download something from the Market.

    And, I tried to do what panz said, but there's nothing like 'Uninstal updates' in the applications menu. I dont know what to do. If you help me with this, I'd be really really appreciate 'cause I've been trying to do this for three or four hours.

    Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage applications > All, then open Market and try clear data and clear cache.

    Thank you, I did what you said but I still have the problem. :/
    And I can't even use that barcode thing, neither. It scans the barcode but I get the same message again; The application Market (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.

    No, actually there's nothing on the phone now. I just got it yesterday and tried to setup something today but I couldnt because of this problem. I only have barcode scanner and market application but none of them is working properly.

    And, I didnt use an android phone before, so that I dont know a lot of things about this. For example, I dont know what root, rooted or ROM is. Oh, I will never be able to use this phone properly. :/
