Camera auto focus broken and making noise
All,
I have a weird problem with my DINC that I couldn't find any answers to on the web and this forum. A few weeks ago my phone started making a weird ticking noise. I narrowed it down to the camera lens moving in and out very rapidly. This seems to happen at random, mostly when the phone is rebooted but happens random times during the day when my phone is sitting on my desk or in my pocket, etc.
This seems to have affected the auto focus of the camera because now when I open the camera app, its stuck at one focus level and will not move. The camera works and can take pictures but only focus on one distance (very close).
Thoughts? I am probably going to contact HTC for a warranty replacement as the phone is only 2 months old but I thought I'd ask if anyone has experienced this issue and found a software fix for it.
Any help is appreciated!

Welcome to the forum
The lens clicking is normal, though annoying.
Double check your settings on the camera to make sure focus is in auto, metering is average or center and that there is no peanut butter or anything on the lens cover.

Hello,
I have a similar issue with my HTC Desire. It appeared after 15 months and no drop.
The clicking sound happens every second when:- in standby, not charging;
- shut down while charging.
It's really strange.
