    I'm probably screwed

    Long story short:

    - My phone was ran over and the lcd cracked and so I cannot see what I'm doing. The phone and touch screen digitizer still functions (Incredible indeed) however, I never synced my contacts, msgs, etc. before this incident occurred. Here's the kicker: my phone is in hard drive mode (I set this as a default beforehand) and so I cannot switch it to HTC Sync mode...

Is there ANY possible way to retrieve those contacts/msgs?!

Were your contacts saved as gmail contacts or phone only?

Of course they were saved as phone only contacts... didn't even know about google accounts until DInc #2. I also went by the Verizon store, but since they cannot see anything, they can't switch it to sync mode, apparently

Get a friends dinc and try to go step by step with his or hers doing the same motions...or ionno if you could run a tv out cable on it.

Problem is does that touch screen still work?

Try hooking to a computer and search for a .vcf file on both sd card and phone. If no luck I can't think of anything else but a company like cellebrite... Have no idea what they would charge to recover that data....if you would want to pay to get it back, I guess it depends.

The touch screen function is still operable, it's the AMOLED that's dead. I tried searching for .vcf files, but no luck... any idea where their stored? I was going through my settings and I noticed that there is a tv out function, like what joshjuniorr mentioned... does anyone know how that works? If not, then I'll look into cellebrite...
