    How to delete ringtones

Is there a way to delete ringtones listed in the sound menu? Even if I delete the song from my music folder, the song remains in my selection of ringtones. Thank you in advance for your help.

If you are trying to remove the file from your phone get Astro from the market. Its a file explorer type app that allows you to move, delete, etc files and folders and a small learning curve to use, unlike some manipulation apps.

i just downloaded it and it didnt work. i first went into the app i downloaded the ringer from and uninstalled it. then it was still on my list. I looked through the astro file manager and it didnt see the ringer either. so i cant find it when i look at the card on my computer, look through the phone, or look through the phone with astro. It seems to me that this program is the same thing as plugging in the usb to your phone and "clicking mount as disk drive" and using windows explorer to search the phone or card. if windows explorer doesnt see it, astro doesnt see it

If it was from an app , example zedge, there should be a folder.
For whatever reason the ringers I got from zedge were on my SD card even after I deleted the app

yeah i went into astro to this directory and the ringer isnt listed, but it comes up on the list when i pick the ringtone i want to select from the list. i can see all the pre loaded ones that come with the phone here, but not the one that is on the list, but not really onmy phone

thats actaually interesting though that you showed me that system folder. when i hook the phone up to the computer using USB, it lists it as 2 drives, one is the card, the other is the phone memory, but it never lists a system folder, odd that i can see it through Astro, unless its a 3rd place to store things? I guess Astro can show a few things the windows explorer cant, this is the actual "inner workings" of the phone rather than the phone internal storage. windows explorer doesnt show system folder or the pre loaded ring tones, so thats something. it says the /sdcard folder is empty, which is odd...since there is stuff on there...whats with that? so weird (EDIT-when i unplug the phone from the computer, it shows the stuff in my SD card...makes it invisible when connected...odd)

But it still doesnt show me the phantom ring tone
