Some Issues With My Incredible!
Hey all! I'm new to the forums and just wanted to ask your opinion on some issues I've been having with my Incredible since the Froyo update:
- Lag/delay when typing
- Typing wrong words
- Phone doesn't vibrate for texts or emails. I have to constantly check the LED indicator to see if I have any notifications.
- Phone randomly deletes all past text/sms conversations I have.
- Randomly will slide though the home screens without me touching anything.
- Every now and then it will have trouble showing me/remembering my contacts.
- Much worse battery life. I have to take my charger with me everywhere.
I read this statement on the Incredible facebook page:
"If you are still having issues with app compatibility and or your phone is lagging (or in general you are having issues with your phone) after the update, I would encourage you to backup your phone and then do a factory reset. Everyone I know who has done a reset and reinstalled their apps is ecstatic with how their "new phone" functions."
Do you guys suggest this, and if so, how would I actually go about it? Any other suggestions to fix this? Can some of these issues only be resolved with a replacement phone? Thanks for your help!

Are you running a stock phone with an OTA Froyo update? Factory resets have solved a lot of weird issues people what come across and it's the first thing we recommend in situations like yours. Doing it is simple- menu>settings> SD & phone storage> factory data reset. Just make sure your pictures are saved onto your SD card and not the phone. You'll lose your text messages and need to set up gmail again as well as reinstall some apps but overall it's really not as bad as it sounds. You can use Appbrain to backup your apps although anything downloaded from Market should be listed as available to re-download once your phone comes back up.
Give it a shot and report back- it helps us to know if people resolve their problems or if they need further help.

Sorry if i am a bit naive. I try to keep up to date and well-read on phone/tech news, but sometimes it's hard. That being said, I suppose I am running a stock phone with an OTA Froyo update. All I did was just download the update when it was available on my phone... I will reset it to factory setting. But how do I make sure my photos and videos are saved on the card? I can't seem to find those settings. Also, my contacts should be already on the card too, right? Thank for the help.

Contacts are saved in gmail. To see what's already on your card, connect your phone as a disk drive and open the folders.

First double check your email settings, from your email window click your menu button, then more, then settings, then notification settings. Check the box that says "notification vibrate"
Also check to see if you text settings are set correctly. Go to "messages", the press "menu", then "settings", scroll down to "vibrate" and make sure that is checked.
If that fails ...
download audio manager from the market, install change your settings, turn phone off, and then uninstall audio manager, unless you really like it. Then it should work
