Droid's Calculator - Trig Functions? One of us is Broken?
When I try to use the Calculator for trig functions, such as Sin, etc...the values don't seem to match up with anything in trig tables or other resources.
I can't believe there's NO relation between what its displaying, and what it seems like it SHOULD be displaying...but it sure is not obvious to a neophyte like myself.
I tried googling and searching for an answer, and all I get are recommendations to get a new app.
Is that because it DOESN'T work, or because its too much trouble to fix?
Help?

Its a Droid Incredible if that helps.

What calculator are you using? The standard calc doesn't have trig functions on it as far as I know...

If you turn it sideways (Landscape) - the std calculator that comes with the Incredible adds a bunch of scienfific functions that don't show in Portrait view.
The problems is, they don't seem to work.
Go to Calc, and turn it sideways...you'll see the new functions.
Then, try a ordinary trig function, like the Sin of 90º...it gives some whacky value.

Yep....turn to landscape hit menu and click advanced panel. Good find.

You're right. It's not in radians either. Hmm...

I'd like it if it worked...I do suspension design work as a hobby, for friends who race or off road, etc...and it would be handy to have it on the phone.
Radians were my first thoughts when the answer was off....
So its some other thing...or its just a major screw up.

Would have been pretty funny if they did use radians- laughing out loud at the thought. Have no idea what they DID use, though!
If you go to the Market and search for trig you'll find a few apps out there.

I barely made it past algebra 1 so I will probably not be using that function alot.

OK I give up...every one just says to down load a new one.
I guess its a black eye for who ever designed the Droid's Calculator though, the guy should be shot.

Umm, they actually do use radians. Plug in the sin of pi/2 and you get 1.
