Emails deleting themselves!
I have my work email set up on my Inc. and it was working great since I got the phone in May. In the last couple of weeks my emails have been deleting themselves. I think I noticed it start happening around Sept. 1st "ish" I was deleting most junk emails but keeping the ones relevant to work, just in case.
I have done a hard reset and the store help desk decided I had bad software and I just got a new "refurb" phone and set everything back up yesterday. Same problems. What I have noticed, is if I have mail downloaded in my phone, when I open my mail client on my laptop and download, all the mail in my phone inbox gets deleted.
Help.
Thanks.

Welcome - Is this using the regular HTC email? Is it exchange email? Any more information on your setup might help us see what is happening.

I'm using the default HTC mail client on the phone... my email is just a POP3 account for work. If I adjust settings on my computer to leave the emails on the server and delete after XX days, then I think I will be able to access those emails on my phone and delete the ones I choose. I am just frustrated because before the update I didn't have to leave the messages on my server. They would download when I checked mail on my laptop and delete off the server at that time. But I would still have the emails on my phone available and accessible... no problems.
Just annoyed... one of like 3 issues I'm dealing with since the update...

Obvious question, but you have gone through your HTC email settings and made sure nothing was changed there? I have read about a few people have email issues since the update, but I do not know if there was any resolution. If you can't get it figured out, I recommend trying K-9 email from the market. It is free and should help determine whether it is within the HTC email app or something else.
Maybe somebody who has had the issue will jump in. You have done a search on this forum?
It does sound like it is syncing and when it does, it is deleting the mail since you deleted it on your laptop. I would give K-9 a try just to see what happens.

Yup, everything is the same on my phone and all my settings. I haven't found anything relevant on this site, but did find a good thread on another forum with the issue. Lots of people having it and it seems to be something with the update and the HTC mail client. I can change my mail settings on the computer to leave the mail on the server for 30 days, thereby having my mail available to me on my phone for those 30 days as well. But it just seem stupid to have to do that when my email worked fine on the phone before the update. Besides that, some people might not have enough storage on their servers to leave all the junk mail up on the server.... hopefully a fix will be made soon. I will check out the K-9 mail also, thanks.

Ok. If is is with the HTC Email then do give K-9 a shot. Many people really like it for its large amount of features.
