Wifi constantly turns off and on on its own
i have a site that i visit regularly where there is no Verizon coverage, and have to use the networks wifi to access data (the site uses wpa/psk tkip encryption). My Incredible always connects initially (and data works fine), but after a few minutes it goes into this constant cycle where it starts turning itself off and on (almost like it's searching for a signal, and it then starts killing the battery), but the signal is good. My laptop works wirelessly all day long with no drops, so i know it's not a signal issue.
Any ideas what would cause this erratic behavior, or do i possibly just have a wifi hardware problem? I stopped using some of my wifi-specific widgets, but no change.

Check the Router
I was having this issue on just my daughters Droid 2. I have 4 android devices, 4 laptops and 4 Nintendo DS's connected just fine. Of those devices only the Droid 2 had an issue. I went into the router and noticed the log was showing the phone was disconnected repeatedly. I changed the channel from auto scan to 11 and set wpa/wpa2 to just wpa2 this seemed to fix the issue. Things like this one can be hard to track down. If your log shows reason code 1 or 8 it is probably the channel that needs to be changed. Hope this helps, good luck.

That doesn't sound like your phone but if you can try another network somewhere, say McDonald's or Starbucks that should confirm.
It's , as posted above , more than likely a router issue.
