HTC People Widget - Help

So I have one of my screens the the People Widget (HTC) and I was wondering if any of you knew how to remove the default action for a person on that screen.

For example, I have the favorites group linked and after I clicked on a person and texted them, the Favorites widet now links that person's icon to texting them every time. Anyone know how to make it not do this?

I would prefer the option of either setting a default action or just opening the contact so I could choose to email, text, GPS etc.

I don't have my phone with me, but I believe you need to go into contacts (three dashed line on the widget) select the contact (not edit) and then go into menu and select "more". If you select more you will get an option to change default widget action. Also, upper right corner of contact is a link button where you can change that. You may be able to change link in another section as well. I don't think you go into edit on the contact, but rather, just like you are looking at it and then select menu -> more

I don't have my phone with me, but I believe you need to go into contacts, open that persons info and edit. Upper right corner will choose link options and I believe you can change the default action (when clicked in the people widget) if you hit the menu button again while on the edit screen. I may be a little off on this, but without my phone this is the best I can recall.

Thanks, but I am not trying to remove a Facebook link, just trying to make it so that when I click the Favorites icon it won't automatically text, I would like to instead change it to Text, etc.

Right..that is where you go into menu and then select more. You should be able to change the widget action. Now, what options you have to change it to I don't recall. This is different than the link

To edit the default widget action:

View the contact in the People application
Press menu--> then 'More' --> then 'Set widget action'

I changed all my Favorites to 'View contact'

Okay, thanks, this did it for me. On the contact's details page click: Menu > More > Set Widget Action .. which will allow you to change the default action of the widget icon.

Do you have to change one at a time or can you somehow change every contact in a group?

Excellent. I didn't know you could do this. I always thought you should be able to change it, i was like, it sure would be nice. lol. But i would kinda like it to be able to pull up that one horizontal bar that lets you select txt, email blah blah blah, you know. But i guess using the HTC widget you can't, or alteast i haven't figured out how.
