Error Message: Problem loading gadget
When I turn my Incredible on and swipe to the phone screen I get the message "Problem loading gadget" at the top of the screen. I loaded an app on the phone last night and then deleted it when it didn't do what I thought it would. I don't know if that had anything to do with it or not. I don't know how to correct the problem. Does anybody have any idea what the message means or what or how it came to be?

I would try pulling the battery.

I tried that, but no help!
Side note: I stopped by the Verizon store on the way home to see if they could help. There were more than a dozen Verizon staff milling around and the people on the "sales" list were moving briskly, but the six people on the tech support list had not talked to anyone yet and the first had been waiting for over 30 minutes. I asked a salesperson and their reply was "that's the way it is." I guess that Verizon had our money so our value decreased. I know this is not a location for a rant, but it surely is disappointing to spend all of this money and be treated like a stranger the following week.

I found this post with the same error message at another Incredible forum:
After moving a shortcut for one program to one of my screens, I then uninstalled the program without first removing the shortcut. I cannot remember which application it was, but now, on that screen, I get the message "Problem loading gadget". I've rebooted and have not used a task killer.
I've searched and searched online for an answer and even looked in the Market to see if I could remember which program it was so that, maybe, reinstalling it would fix the problem.
I would like to avoid a reset, if possible.
Any ideas? I appreciate your help!
I removed an app also. I will try to remember which one and how so I can reinstall it and see if that helps. I just thought I would post this so everyone else would be reminded to follow proper protocol when dealing with apps and shortcuts.

Well I hope this solution works for someone else. My problem is gone, but I'd hate to have to swear that I was the cause of it going. Anyway, here is what I did:
After reading the other post above I searched my records and established that I had installed "Speeddialer." I reinstalled the program and entered some data into it. Then I went to menu - settings - apps - manage applications and uninstalled the program. Then I went to my home screen and while holding down the shortcut "Remove" appeared at the bottom of the screen. I hit remove and the shortcut was gone. Then I held down the remaining message "Problem Loading Gadget" and Remove appeared again. I hit remove and the message dissappeared. what I did seems to be the opposite of the post above, but it worked.
