problems with downloading apk files

i downloaded an apk file for the better keyboard and it is on my phone, when i open up apk installer, i found the file and clicked on it. then it comes up and prompts me to choose between nesoid or package installer. when i click on nesoid it says; rom file is not supported. when i click on package installer it says; there is a problem parsing the package. what did i need to do in order for this to work??

apps outside of the market that come via apk files cannot be opened unless you go to setting /manange applications/ and check off unknown sources.this will allow downloads of apps outside of the android market.

I am having this same issue and this does not fix the issue I have. I still get the error. I have tried with the tab on and off.

OP if it's a pirated version of Better Keyboard that may be the issue.

Reviving dead thread. Got same thing no matter what cannot install speakerboosterplus.apk and a few others are hit or miss too. And I keep getting parsing error.

Ah very sorry I didn't even think about it when I was trying to figure this out . Ok then how bout speaker booster plus. Legit app from market I get this too. I had this problem before on my inc 1 but don't know how I remedied it its been so long.
