Troubles with pics and video in email

I have friends that email pics and wmv files as attachments
First how do you save a pic from an email
People have told me to long press and it will ask me to save but when I do nothing happens
Also friends send me attachments with WMV for me to watch , I can't seem to watch these video files or any other video file
So! What am I doing wrong in these matters ,to me it gets frustrating
You see, I'm an old iPhone 3g guy and these things just worked but I got tired of Apple and ATT BS
So ! Please help

in gmail or htc email?

And im not sure about the video message thing because i haven't received a video message yet to test that.

WMV will not play well on the Android phone. Just like other formats will not play well on other phones. There are apps on the market that claim they can play them, but they are just not worth it yet. There is still rumours of VLC coming to Android which would be great since this plays 99% of the formats out there. Believe me when I tell you that the Iphone does not play every format. I owned one as well. Actually, the only phone I ever had that did was a palm treo, but that was due to an app where you could download codecs. Android needs that...

As for the picture save...just click on it and it should give you options to save it to phone storage. Are they complete attachments or are the inserted into the body? I always get three choices...Open, save to internal storage or save to SD card.

I still love the "these things just worked" from Iphone users. God...there were so many things I couldn't do with my Iphone 3GS including watch several videos...

I should add that if you see the picture opened, long click on it and it will bring up options. Not difficult at all, but you need to learn the OS which will take a little time.

The pics are in the body of the email,I have tried long pressing to get options but nothing pops up ,absolutely nothing
There are pics I'd like save of family members
Do I have something disabled in setting ?
As far as the video ,I do understand that not all files will not play
Hopefully someone will come out with a player on the market
