Same Bluetooth car issue as Nexus One?
Have any of the folks who have had a chance to play with the new Incredible been able to check to see if it has the same Bluetooth issue as has been reported multiple times with the Nexus One?
The Nexus One is able to pair with the in-car handsfree systems on several Nissan products (Altimas, Rogues, Infinity) and work perfectly for handsfree calling. It can accept voice commands, answer incoming calls, etc. HOWEVER: audio from the call goes to the phone and not to the in-car handsfree device. In other words, no sound through the car's system. This problem has also been reported on some BMW, Dodge and Jaguar vehicles.
I'd like to purchase two Incredibles this week but this would be a deal breaker since my wife and I spend allot of time in our cars.
Thanks for your input.

Im not sure. It was my understanding that no Android devices actually support hands free BT dialing. Either way I'm sure if they complained about it enough it was corrected on this phone. The Nexus One is made by HTC o if they knew about this problem I'm sure they would have put in a considerable effort to fix this before the phones release.

The issue is not Handsfree dialing through the phone. Dialing is through the car's system and works well. What doesn't work is audio through the car speakers (like it does with the G1 and Blackberry devices). This has been a Nexus 1 (Android 2.1) issue since the day it came out and doesn't sound like it's corrected in 2.2 either.

i am not sure about nissan and other manufactures but with bmw do not use this phone or any phone that is not on bmw's compatible phone list. when an incorrect phone is paired it may work for awhile but over time could actually damage the computer that controls the phone and other modules in the car. just an fyi

first it doesn't work with the 2010 3 series in my driveway right now,but I work for BMW (franchise) and it WILL NOT damage the computers. You can try as I did. It actually worked right away I was like awesome, but then I relized it wasn't working properyly. as usual no timeline from BMW on ANY Droids being compatible with thier cars either............I am not sure about other manufacturers. Though I will bet it works woth Ford Sync

not trying to start trouble but , well believe it or not i also work for bmw as a technician and i do know for a fact that over time given the right circumstances it can definitely damage the module that controls the bluetooth function called the tcu/ulf and could also damge other components on that system/bus called the most bus. i have seen it with my own eyes and at that point it is not covered under warranty. at that point it shouldnt be due to customer neglecting to adhere to bmw's phone list. i am just stating what i have seen and what i have been told from bmw.
thanks

The 128 I just bought 4 weeks ago sync'd perfect with my dumb slow Touch Pro. I bought the Incredible yesterday worked fine till this morning, so ya I'm in the same boat as everyone else in this thread. As far as supporting Android phones, you might want to double check your stuff man. Check out the bottom of the page... BMW North America This kind of gives me hope, but I'll double check with my sales guy this weekend when I go get tint installed and see if he can confirm anything.

the bottom of the page shows the moto droid which is a different phone, although the incredible might be on that list in the future as bmw tests each phone and then gives their seal of approval. it has to do with the phones sw not only the hardware. if one type of phone works from lets say at&t and the same exact model phone is tried from another carrier like verizon it might not be compatible due to different sw.
unfortunately i see this all day long.... customers say the phone use to work great and now today it wont pair or maybe it wont load the phone book or worse yet the radio or nav system is not working. this can, and in most cases be traced back to an incompatible phone being used.
