Different text messgae sounds.

Hey all, I'm trying to use different text notification sounds when different people text me. Seems like that should be customizable just like a ring tone for different people...but I'm not finding it so easy. Any help/suggestions/step by steps would be very welcomed!

Ringo,whoisit or Handcent can do that.
I'd suggest Handcent since it's a much better texting app than the one that came with your phone.

Mark, thanks! In my searching I did find a previous recommendation that you made for handcent and downloaded it. I played with it all day and couldn't make it work for me. Guess it wasn't the app for me. I downloaded whoisit and in seconds I accomplished exactly what I wanted.

Should you decide to give Handcent another try I'll be more than happy to help you set up the app for more than the notifications but I'm a big fan of whoisit for more than the text tones. The VIP is why I got it and also enjoy separate tones for mms. I suggested Ringo because it's free and also works well.
