(rooted) Droid Incredible software updates

hi,

it has been a while since i have been on this site.

i currently have a 1st generation droid incredible which has been rooted (thanks to this site / forum).

it seems like there is a new "operating" system for this droid. periodically, i would receive an install system updates. i would try to update the phone but nothing happens.

i currently am using:

android version
2.2

baseband version
2.15.00.07.28

is there anyway to manually update this VERY SIMPLY (i;m not very technical)?

will i have to re-root my phone?

will i lose everything on my phone?

any input is great appreciated.
