HTC Indredible camera will only focus on objects within ~6 inches

Hi all - I haven't found this problem discussed elsewhere, and was hoping someone may have a solution.

I just received a CPO HTC Incredible. Regardless of whether autofocus is on or off, the camera cannot focus on objects more than about 6 inches away. How might I go about fixing this problem? I hear what seems to be a 'focusing' sound, but nothing changes in the view, and the photos are obviously very blurry.

Might this just be an issue where I'll need to send back for a replacement?
